Check-In

Check-In was done in under 60 seconds with the agent pulling up my reservation and giving me a room key. My bag and I were escorted to my room. That's the way love it - no waiting for 30 minutes for your bag but also no schlepping on a hot day like this for me.

The lobby area is very stylish with lot's of modern art sprinkled around. I later sat down for 15 minutes just to review the beautiful art work and let the area impress me.

The room

The corner room I got had great views towards the famous Stallhof courtyard and towards the Frauenkirche. The bed was excellent was high quality bedding and great firmness of the mattress. The pillows provided were fantastic as well.

However the bathroom was not in a separate room but came out from the wall and so was the wash basin. There was not even a privacy glass wall. That's not a big issue for me but I can see that annoying even for couples.

I thought the AC was one of the best I've seen. I sleek panel to adjust it and it was so quite and effective I suspected it wasn't on (but it was perfectly cold :)

I just had a quick bite in the hotel restaurant and really liked the quality and presentation of the food.

There are dozens of bakeries and restaurants in the immediate vicinity so I opted to hang out there and take in the Frauenkirche views.

Connectivity

The Wifi is free for all guests and was very fast. It also was easy to use and did not log me out unnecessarily.

It's considered one of the best hotels in the city and it certainly deserve a good recognition. It's brand new and still has the new hotel smell. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. It's a great location to discover the old town of Dresden (well you can't actually stay any closer) and room rates are very reasonable around $150.
