View from the Wing reports about the progress of booking one-way awards with Alaska Airlines. British Airways is now fully integrated with more partners to follow soon. BA's fuel surcharges make redeeming on BA metal almost always a bad idea.
Alaska's Mileage Plan miles are easy to accumulate in small quantities from credit card sign ups and flying on selected airlines but it's hard to collect them in in larger quantities. I'm sitting on 50k Alaska miles for some time now trying to reach the best award they offer from the US to Johannesburg via Hong Kong in Cathay Pacific First Class. I guess by the time I have all 140k miles in my account it will be gone. But now maybe I can get a one-way in F to Hong Kong (or even Johannesburg) out of my 50k+ miles once Cathay is integrated the same way?
