Sheraton Tel Aviv Review

I selected this hotel to spend a day at the beach and Starwood is the favorite chain of mine. I also found a great BRG rate for this property making it more attractive. Usual rates are around $300 for regular rooms.

Check-in was friendly but slow and riddled with confusion over which suites belong into the upgrade pool (none of the ones I looked up online).

The hotel is located right across from the beach. There is an Intercontinental, Hilton, Renaissance and Crowne Plaza. The Parka Plaza and many others are at the same strip.

The hotel is currently renovating the pool. Neither the renovation nor the very loud construction work was announced prior to my stay. This was disappointing.

Once the room was settled upon I led myself to my room which was airy and had a fantastic view over the Tel Aviv beach. It also was remodeled and felt much fresher than the rest of the hotel.

Equally impressive was the Towers Lounge staff which excelled at service quality whenever I was there. I'm not sure why bit they were eagerly friendly while most of teh other staff was rather indifferent towards guests. The lounge appetizers did not look enticing enough for me to try (wasn't hungry anyways) but there was wine, beer and liquor on offer in the evening.

The hotel provides parking for $16/day with unlimited in/out. Tel Aviv at the beach is best explored by bike and bicycles are free for the first 2 hours ($10/hour each hour afterwards). 2 hours is enough to reach the Old Town around Jaffa and back comfortably.

The Internet was very fast and worked flawlessly.

The hotel breakfast was ok with a lot of options but lacking in quality a bit - especially after the prior day stay at the Crowne Plaza Tel Aviv city center.

I do believe the hotel is a good option for exploring the beach area in Tel Aviv. Traffic can be horrible in the city so if you have business meetings somewhere else in town make sure you have enough time planned for transport.
