Best values in the new Hilton award chart

Hilton has updated the award chart last night and made the changes live on hilton.com. There are a couple of sweet spots in the new award chart – unfortunately most aspirational awards are more dear than before.

LoyaltyLobby has a good summary of the best options.

In general the category 1 properties provide good value at just 5,000 points per night.

The best deals include:

– DoubleTree Beijing 5,000 HH points per night

– most properties in Egypt incl. Cairo and Alexandria!

– DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Goa – Arpora – Baga

There are a number of interesting category 2 properties as well for 10,000 points a night.

The best deals include:

– DoubleTree Kuala Lumpur

– Hampton Inn Mexico City Centro Historico

– DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Aqaba, Jordan

The low category of some of these properties may not last – so consider booking now and cancel later.

Please don't forget that as of now you can 'generate' Hilton points rather easily with Vanilla Reloads and the Amex Surpass card. Most CVS stores that have Vanilla Reloads in stock allow you to buy $1,000/ day. This results in 6,000 Hilton points. The fees are about $5 per $500 reload card. So you essentially get a night in a hotel under $20. Quite a steal!
